Divine

Website
With Divine Free Edition, you can convert ANY Photoshop design to a WordPress theme. Divine was developed for those who know a bit from Photoshop and sites creation but don't want to get bored marking up a valid site on the basis of CMS manually. By the way, the site gets uploaded to the server via the built-in FTP-client.

Come on guys - add some of these cute animated elements while downloading your soft, for instance. Users just love to see these rabbits, flowers, smileys etc. It's nice to come back using some program when u know it looks sweeter than other boring strict designs.
Official response:
Thank you for this brilliant suggestion - Divine developers will include it in their future plans:)

I think including built in examples and quick tutorials into divine would make it even better.

For example you could have an element with a question mark beside it, once clicked a little popup windows would come with quick reference.
Official response:
Thank you for this brilliant suggestion. Our developers will soon appeal to it.

I use Windows 7, Mac OSX 10.5.6, Ubuntu 9.04, and Fedora 11.

So I know it will be available for Mac soon...but any future thoughts of adding it for Linux distros? Like at least the main ones?
Official response:
The following versions of Divine will support other OS - including Linux and Mac.

Heya Divine. I've got some more ideas for this plug-in.

1) Adding an option to create a form. PHP Based, etc... (With checkbox options etc...)

2)An option to add a poll.

3)Now this might sound crazy, but instead of as well as using WordPress. It would be great to have your own CMS system. This would be great for website designers who want to have a specially designed CMS for their clients. So the option to export to WordPress as well as an option to export so it can be used with your own CMS. So divine will have an option which can create it's own CMS (Content-Mangement-System) which you can alter the design and the functionality as easy as possible without any code.

4)Option to add embedded flash objects etc... (Sorry, i'm not sure if this already exists)

5) HTML5/CSS3 ! So you can have HTML5 based videos, so you just insert the video into the divine interface and then Divine automatically codes it into HTML5.

6) Animations, Animations, Animations! JQuery effects such as jQuery sliders. And jQuery Scroll-To. And other animations done in CSS format. So hover-over actions, click & show options, click & hide options, click-move options. So say I click on object X another object(s) can move/hide/show. It would be excellent if we can get jQuery effects in without any code.

6) Export + AJAX
AJAX effects would be great too, options to add a ajax interface with animations etc... Option to export to PHP.

7) HTML Snippets.
Option to add html code into a page, such as an youtube embed code.

8) Code
Option to edit header tags and body tags on an advanced interface and add things in, such as a website toolbar.

9) Website toolbar creation!
Just like many other toolbars which you can add to websites, it would be great if we can have the option to create our own toolbar which we can customise and edit, etc...

10) User interactivity,
AJAX Drag and Drop options.
So you can define an object/image/text or whatever to be user interactive, so the user can move the object anywhere on the page.

11) Lightbox features.
It would be great if you can add a lightbox feature where you can define an image or video to appear in a lightbox when you click on the thumbnail. So say i place an image on photoshop of a forest and then make it small to appear as a thumbnail, and then in the divine interface I tell the software that the thumbnail has to appear in a lightbox as a bigger image when i click on it. So I can put anything in the lightbox i want, such as text etc...

12) Countdown?
It's another good feature which can be added, a countdown timer. So you can tell divine which time and date to countdown to and you can edit the timer ( the way it looks) and how many digits to show, Year,Month,Days,Seconds etc...

13) iFrame options.

14) Options which can add a sort of a sidebar type thing. Just like on the left of this page, there's a little tab which says "feedback" and it stays there no matter if you scroll the page, it stays there!
It would be great if we can have this type of feature implemented in the software.

15) Extras,
Options to add things like guestbooks, integrated forums, shoutboxes, newsletter system etc...

16) Option to add a Live Chat.
So just like most companies do, on their websites they have an option to speak to a representative. So on the backend, a employee can log into the website to use the live chat and then the user can click on a button somewhere on the page and go straight to the live chat, which can be embedded in a page or open in a new window. It would also be great if you can edit the look and feel of the live chat.

17) A preloader!
It would be great if we can get a really nice, AJAX, jQuery preloader, so all the images/elements on the site load and the preloader is shown while these things load, and once loaded the preloader gets to 100% and then the content shows up in a nice effect! This can be perfect for web apps etc...

Well I've had enough of my ranting! Hope these features get implemented (:

Official response:
Thanks for so many useful ideas!

We'll definitely consider each of them. And you'll probably find some of them implemented in the nearest versions.

I should of mentioned this in my last post, but It would be epic if a log-in system can be implemented. So the user can log-in then be transferred over to the members area. So you define which page you want to be password protected so you require a account to access it, and the website can have an integrated registration system, which can be edited ( the look and feel.) Through an admin panel, it would be great if the webmaster can edit the members, so delete a member, add a member ban a member, etc. So you can have the option if you want an open registration system or a closed where you have to accept members.

I guess you get the idea (:
Official response:
Thanks for the suggestion!

We'll consider it soon.

Make it possible to add a 'full screen' (full browser window) background image which will automatically stretch to the screen size.

Well I love Photoshop...

But I've always wanted to have a program able of building a site strait out of Illustrator instead of having to import everything to photoshop, try to make it look as good, and then export it to something like Divine.

Because like I'm sure many know, with Illustrator, you can make everything alot more freehand/custom then in photoshop with premade brushes...etc
Official response:
As usual, we do the mark up in Photoshop as this program is more usable for sites creation than Adobe Illustrator. That's why we adapted Divine to Photoshop.
If you want to convert your graphics from Illustrator to Photoshop, you can google "Export Illustrator Files to Photoshop". We hope this helps.

When will the full version and for how much it can be to buy? Thanks
Official response:
Divine Elemente (formerly Divine Personal) Edition will be released soon.
As soon as it's ready, be sure, we'll let you know.

Regarding the price, either professional or student will be able to afford this software, as the main goal of our project is to make PSD>CMS process easier and more qualitative for everyone. So, the price was fixed as $80 per the version intended for bloggers working with CMS WordPress.

Now UPD: The final price has been changed ($100-200) for the Divine Elemente (formerly Divine Personal) because of greatly extended functionality in comparison with Free one. So, at the moment it's not only for bloggers (as we thought before) but for designers and webdevelopers who are very interested in our product too.

Hey there Divine, I recently spotted a software similar to yours -- AD REMOVED --, however it is incredibly expensive and their UI isn't great. However it does have some powerful functions --AD REMOVED --
Official response:
Great idea! Thanks a lot.

However, we are watching closely over trends in the Web and wish to make happy our cool users giving them the most delicious decision from Divine Team ;-)

We'll announce a new edition very soon with pleasure. Wait a little.

I just gotta say, This project is clearly the result of intelligent designers and programmers who thought "There must be another, better way!"

Let me tell you my dear friends, you have FOUND that other way! Good job, I literally can not wait for the full version.
Official response:
Thank you so much for your support:)
We're doing our best:)

Hey there,

I suggest ( and hope ) that you offer a 30 day or so trial of the full version, I will be honest here, its so that students like my self can sell some templates created with divine to be able to afford to buy it lol

I know it sounds stupid but 200 dollars can be a bit too much for a student ;p
Official response:
Thank you for touching upon the price question.

We've actually never stated that $200 would the exact price for Divine Elemente (formerly Divine Personal) :) We only said the cost would be between $60-$200. So, then the price was fixed as $80 per version. Now UPD: The final price has been changed ($100-200) for the Divine Elemente (formerly Divine Personal) Edition because of greatly extended functionality in comparison with Free one. So, at the moment it's not only for bloggers (as we thought before) but for designers and web developers who are very interested in our product too.

Divine Team is working at the trial version now. As soon as it's ready, we'll let you know.

Unfortunately for the present moment you only have Divine Free with the limited number of functions.

Please make a portable version of Divine (for who use portable PhotoShop).
How to work?
Just copy one folder in photoshop plugins and start work whit Divine
Official response:
Thank you for your interest in Divine project.

You can install the plugin for the portable version of Photoshop. To do that:
specify a “Custom folder” path to the directory where all plugins of the editor version are located.

As we all know, Divine supports the creation of WordPress themes. Are you planning to support other CMS platforms and if so, which ones?

I have searched the website for an answer to this, but have failed to find one.
Thanks.
Official response:
Yes, we are planning to support many of the most popular ones. We can say now that Joomla, Drupal, Blogger, etc. will be realized in the next Divine editions in the nearest future.

By the way, Divine plugin's customers may suggest to support this or that CMS platform by creating a new post here. And the more votes the suggestion receives, the faster it'll be realized in Divine.

It is a wonderful product! Being a avid blogspot user, I am wondering if there are any plans for a PSD-to-blogger product?
Official response:
Thank you for your interest in Divine project.

It is planned for the next versions of Divine plugin.

I am using free version. When I load the PSD file it throws up the resolution limitation. When I check the limitations page it says "This means the document width must not be less than 750 px and more than 1000 px, the height must be within 1000 px and 2000 px." and my PSD is 960x900 which is within the limitations. I doubt this problem being solved. I have tried many PSD files within the limitation and even a 800x600 throws up the same error. So it's a worthless for me at this stage.
Official response:
Please look through the limitation rules attentively again:

Layout size must not exceed 1000×2000px or be smaller than 750×1000px. This means the document width must not be less than 750 px and more than 1000 px, the height must be within 1000 px and 2000 px.

The ability to create more than 1 sidebar and have it display in different positions based on Home page layout and interior layout. This would help bridge the gap significantly between some whom uses a program like this and codes it manually.

Example would be to have a right sidebar on home page but when clicked into an interior page, the sidebar is on the left with different contextual items in it.
Official response:
Good idea, indeed.

We'll think about its implementation.

A lot of designers are likely to use Divine to bridge the gap between theirselves and premium theme creators. Premium theme creators often create a "Theme Option" section under the appearance menu.

It would be very helpful if a user could assign object with a multiple scenario's or option values, that can be generated as a theme option. Assuming that a theme options page would be generated as well.
Official response:
It's really good idea for a modern blogger who needs more than just standard CMS functionality, that many people like such projects as WordPress for.

It's a useful feature, so we'll take it into account in future releases.
